Journal Response 19

19. Should school attendance be mandatory? In your answer, be sure to explore what the function of education is, and what our nation would look like if the masses were less educated.

School attendance should not be mandatory; although school is the place to get an education it is for one important to choose were and what he/she wants to learn. A person has the ability to know how they learn and where they learn better, one might find school like a prison and will not learn well because they feel they are being forced to learn, others might feel school like a form to escape from their lives and might feel relax and calm and learn better in school. Even though school gets kids out of the danger of the street life the there is also danger is school with bullies, who lowers the self-esteem of a person and makes them self-conscious. Bullies scar a person for life and traumatize them making them feel less, wouldn’t you like to save a person from the street than from them self’s, because bullies would hurt them to the point that they might even want to kill themselves. Education is very important especially to make a nation flourish; however, the only way to educate people is by teaching them were they can learn better because some people can learn better outdoors than indoors, if our nation would not like to get an education we would be in danger of being invaded by another nation. In order to make anything flourish people need an education, because it gives people the knowledge to run a business or nation and it give people a problem solving criteria and different ways of thinking. School attendance should not be mandatory; however, school should be, not just for oneself but for the future and for the nation.
